Art Psychotherapy Counselling ServicesTM offers specialized services for children, adolescents, and adults.   Treatment offered includes individual, couples, family, and group therapy.  

This site is to provide you with information about this private clinical practice.   Also included in this site are mental health resources, types of therapeutic treatments offered, therapy groups available, and if you become registered on our site you will receive our monthly mental health Newsletter and clinical practice updates.  

We also conduct a monthly Professional Development Webinar Series and a Clinical Peer Support Group.   For more information on our services please contact our office.

New to this private practice is 'in-home therapy sessions'.  This addition offers individuals to experience therapy within their own home setting if unable to come to our location.   In strongly believing that all individuals who seek out therapy should have the opportunity to do so, this aspect of the practice allows treatment to reach all whom are searching for this outlet.   Please contact us for further information.

Keith Anderson will present a first person account of life with depression. Keith is a lawyer in Nova Scotia who can attest to the devastating impact mental illness can have on one’s life. He sees stigma in two ways. The first is self stigma. Knowing you have a mental illness and being able to be public about it. Even in the midst of the darkest days of depression, Keith knew he wanted a public voice to discuss mental health issues. But he knows many people who could not do so. As well, most people see stigma, or feel it, by the treatment they receive from others. They can be shunned or even ignored. Keith has had that happen to a great extent. He sees such behavior as a form of discrimination.

Hospital Experience for Children: Play & Art Based Strategies - $20.00


Presenter Crystal Zelman, Social Worker and Certified Child Life Specialist
This webinar presentation will encompass medical-specific play and art-based interventions for children who are currently experiencing a hospital environment (either inpatient or outpatient); children who need to process a previous hospital experience; and children who are experiencing the hospitalization of a loved-one. You will learn how to adapt traditional play and art therapy techniques into medical-specific interventions. You will also learn how to prepare a child to visit a loved one in a hospital setting via preparation, assessment and intervention techniques and materials. The workshop will conclude with a pre-grief activity appropriate for use with children and families. Case examples/illustrations will be utilized to demonstrate some of the activities. Therapy, the Highlight of my Week - $20.00
Presenter Keith Anderson, Lawyer and Mental Health Advocate
Keith Anderson is a lawyer who unknowingly had depression for years until being diagnosed in 2003, by which time it's devastating impact had taken away his health and career. After his breakdown, Keith sought out therapy. Having never been to therapy before, it was certainly a new experience. He would attend therapy once a week for two years and then once a month for a year. This Webinar will examine how Keith came to find a psychologist, what he learned in therapy, and how therapy actually assisted in his recovery. As well, the knowledge that Keith acquired about depression allowed his family to learn what steps were needed to help him attain good health.

Levick Emotional and Cognitive Art Therapy Assessment (LECATA) - ($20.00)

Three hundred and thirty normal children, in the Palm Beach County School District, Florida, USA, K-through 6th grade, were administered the LECATA. Using Powerpoint, this presentation will take the participants through the developmental process of this assessment and administrative manual; the data analysis, results and implications of the normative study. Graphic examples of an evaluation for each grade will be shown. This will include the drawings produced by the child and the score sheets. Time will be allowed for Q & A. Myra will also be presenting this Study at this years AATA Conference.
