- Undertake an initial assessment of a client involving a social history, and to develop an ongoing assessment using information and observations gained through therapy sessions.
- Make and record objective observations and professional reports.
- Identify and use subjective responses to the client.
- Develop appropriate treatment plans utilizing theoretical knowledge.
- A range of techniques to facilitate verbal and non-verbal communication using simple art materials.
- A professional identity that includes:
- Professional ethics.
- Awareness of professional obligations and limitations.
- Ability to work effectively in a team (at agencies, schools, hospitals etc.) or independently in private practice.
- Presenting case studies.
- Ability to develop and rationalize a treatment plan using art therapy.
- Clinical supervision
- Received regularly.
- Both individual and group supervision.
